Harry Guthrie

Harry Guthrie is a choral conductor, baritone and teacher based in London. He founded Continuum in 2018 and directs the group in concerts and recordings in and around London. In addition to being Director of Music at St Barnabas’ Church, Ealing, he has been a Guest Conductor for the Cambridge University Chamber Choir, the Rodolfus Choir and has directed Ely Cathedral Choir. Harry began a new role as Musical Director of Fulham Camerata in September 2024.
Passionate about working with young people, Harry is Head of Academic and Choral Music at Notting Hill and Ealing High School. He has previously worked at Wells Cathedral School, St John’s College School, Cambridge, St Catharine’s College, Cambridge and at Ely Cathedral. Harry enjoys annual work with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and the Rodolfus Foundation, both of which were instrumental in developing his love of choral music.
After growing up in Bedford, Harry read Music at Trinity College, Cambridge where he held a Choral Scholarship under Stephen Layton. Before coming up to Cambridge, he spent a year as the Bass Choral Scholar at Wells Cathedral. Harry has studied conducting with Stephen Layton and Paul Spicer.

Claire Paul

Claire’s musical journey began at the age of eleven when she took up the flute. After winning first prize at the Welsh National Eisteddfod, she won a place at Chethams School of Music in Manchester. Here she began her studies as a singer and became a founding member of the British Youth Choir (now the National Youth Choir of Great Britain).
Professionally, Claire has spent over thirty years with the BBC – beginning her career as a Radio Presenter and News Editor, progressing on to become General Manager of the BBC’s Radio & Music and News Divisions. More recently, she moved into the field of people development and is passionate about nurturing talent from all walks of life. As the BBC’s Director of Leadership, Careers and New Talent she worked closely with the government on post-16 skills development and was appointed by the Skills Minister to chair the Department for Education’s Apprentice Delivery Board. In partnership with an industry/ education consortium, she also developed the UK’s first Degree Apprenticeship.
Since leaving the BBC in 2021, Claire has worked as a senior consultant in the skills and education field; with the BRIT School, City and Guilds, the British Chambers of Commerce, and a Mayoral Combined Authority.
In 2019, Claire was awarded an MBE for services to Education and Apprenticeships.
