Continuum
Founded in 2019 by Artistic Director, Harry Guthrie, our professional chamber choir, Continuum, performs choral music with outstanding vocal artistry and emotional insight.

Our repertoire spans the centuries, guided by a deep sense of musical connection, drawing on artistic integrity and a shared instinct for collaboration and creative risk.

We make music together as equals, and audiences tell us they can really hear the difference.
Artistic Director
Harry Guthrie founded Continuum in 2019 and directs the ensemble in concerts and recordings across England and Wales. Since 2024, he has been Musical Director of Fulham Camerata and he has appeared as Guest Conductor for the Cambridge University Chamber Choir, Rodolfus Choir and Ely Cathedral Choir. Harry is Director of Music at St Barnabas’ Church, Ealing, and Head of Academic and Choral Music at Notting Hill and Ealing High School. His earlier positions in education include roles with Wells Cathedral School, St John’s College School, Cambridge, St Catharine’s College, Cambridge and Ely Cathedral, and he continues to work annually with the Rodolfus Foundation, which helped to shape his love of choral music.
Harry read Music at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he held a Choral Scholarship under Stephen Layton. Before university he was Bass Choral Scholar at Wells Cathedral and sang with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.

Composer in Residence
We are delighted to be collaborating with Lucy Walker as Continuum’s first Composer in Residence (2025-2027).
Lucy is also Composer-in-Association with St Martin’s Voices and, in 2024, was recognised as one of Classic FM’s Rising Stars. Gaining widespread recognition for her fresh, engaging choral compositions, she was praised by Bob Chilcott who said her music is “beautifully crafted and full of light”.
Her impressive portfolio includes choral works commissioned by the BBC Singers, VOCES8, the Sixteen, and Cathedral Choirs across the UK.
New Music
New music is at the core of Continuum’s identity, with an ambitious commissioning programme that shapes our sound and our future.
We commission and premiere a growing body of choral works from a wide range of distinctive voices, including our Composer in Residence Lucy Walker and emerging composers such as Alexander Hopkins, Helena Paish, Carlos Rodríguez Otero and Harold Thalange.
We also collaborate with established composers including Ben Parry, Joanna Forbes‑L’Estrange and Stuart Beer.

Since 2018, Continuum has commissioned fourteen new works and arrangements, building a significant catalogue of contemporary choral music.
